As our current season of COVID continues on, I’ve noticed some mindset themes pop up in client sessions.
There’s definitely no right or wrong way to experience this time, but I have noticed some common experiences that keep coming up again and again with clients.
So on this week’s blog, I’m sharing the most common mindset challenges I’m seeing with my clients (because I know others can relate too). I’m also sharing exactly how I’m helping clients overcome these specific challenges, so they can continue making bank!
# 1 MOST COMMON CLIENT MINDSET CHALLENGE
COVID Mindset Challenge: “People don’t want to buy right now – the market’s too uncertain and people’s income has changed.”
Mindset Re-frame: People are actually buying more than ever, because the need is there and people’s pain points are greater than ever.
How We’re Overcoming: I’m helping my clients see that when pain points go up, price points matter less. I’m also having them do the mindset work to really lean into this truth every day.
How This Applies To You: If you’re someone who worries people don’t want to buy right now, use the above re-frame. You can also use the evidence that 8 of my clients make 5-figure months in April! (Meaning – people are still buying.) And then do the mindset work everyday that helps you trust that you have the solution to someone’s problem and can make really good sales during this time!
#2 MOST COMMON CLIENT MINDSET CHALLENGE
COVID Mindset Challenge: “I’m so overwhelmed with ideas, I don’t know where to start.” OR, “I have no idea what to do or how to best serve my audience at this time.”
Mindset Re-frame: Overwhelm is caused by thinking 10 steps ahead instead of focusing on the next step in front of you. Focus on the next one step in front of you.
How We’re Overcoming: We’re ditching the 9 other steps AND we’re ditching the idea that the next step has to be “right” or “perfect”. We’re identifying the next “best” step to take and then we’re taking it. And then we’re using that data to help us decide the next one best step after that, and so on.
How This Applies to You: Feeling overwhelmed is an immediate clue you need to dial it back 9 steps. Just focus on the next best step (any step) in front of you and take action on that today. Trust that you’ll continue to know the next best steps as you keep taking steps. Don’t overthink things.
#3 MOST COMMON CLIENT MINDSET CHALLENGE
COVID Mindset Challenge: “I’m not feeling very motivated to work on or grow my business right now.” OR, “I don’t have the kind of time I used to devote to my business.”
Mindset Re-frame: This is totally normal and permission to feel these feelings. There is no right or wrong way to experience this current season.
How We’re Overcoming: More than ever, I’m helping my clients take care of their business by taking care of themselves FIRST – and making this a priority every dang day. I’m helping them figure out what they need to give themselves during this time to feel good, and so they can access that creative/inspired/motivated part of themselves when they need to. And on some days, this simply means to lean back and rest when they need to.
How This Applies to You: Be sure you’re taking care of YOU during this time, before your business. Tune into what you need each day and give it to yourself. Then, know what your top 1-2 money-making tasks are each day/week, and do those in the time you have. Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be and surrender the rest.
Now I’d love to hear from you! How do YOU overcome overwhelm? Or, what’s one action step you’re taking this week to grow your business?
