Hi, I’m Lisa – Mindset Strategist and Sales Coach for high-achieving and heart-centered women entrepreneurs who are here to make an income AND an impact.
I’m also a licensed psychotherapist and have started and scaled two multi six-figure businesses (one online and one brick-and-mortar). I’ve worked in the 9-to-5 space as a clinical director and licensed therapist, but being an entrepreneur is in my blood. I’m also a California transplant (because I just couldn’t do one more Chicago Winter), total book junkie, and lover of all things wine and cheese.
Another fun fact: I never wanted to be a sales coach when I grew up. In fact, I wanted to get as far away from sales as I possibly could. We’re talkin’ serious sales-avoider over here.
At that early point in my business, it felt like there was only one way to do selling – by using high-pressure, sleazy, and manipulative tactics. And I was NOT down with any of that. So I didn’t sell. What I did do was invested in business cards, a glossy website, and a fancy office…and waited for the clients to roll in.
And guess how many sales I made in my first business with that mindset? Yep, you guessed it: $0. But when I shifted my mindset and learned how to sell in MY OWN way, I quickly grew that business to the multiple six-figure mark within the first year.
I did NOT identify as a sales person, nor did I want to.
But guess what? I had to get out of my own way around this. And so do you.
Because my business didn’t actually care if I didn’t want to sell, or if selling felt uncomfortable to me. My business needed me to sell, so that it could grow. And your business needs the same from you.
I also deeply wanted to grow a thriving business doing work that lit me up. I wanted to make an impact in the world. I wanted to be in charge of how I made my money and spent my time. And I’m guessing you feel the same.
I decided that I wanted those things more than I wanted to stay safe and avoid sales. I decided to lean into the fear (instead of away from it). I decided it was MY time to build the life and business of my dreams.
So I worked my mindset and took major action. I learned good, heart-centered sales strategy. I matched that strategy to my unique voice and personality. I learned how to sell like ME. And then I practiced until I mastered the art of selling in a way that felt good (and worked!).
And you know what I realized? That selling isn’t hard. That selling well is just a set of skills to learn. That selling can feel good (and can do good too). That I was really good at selling. That I actually LOVED selling. That learning how to sell was what actually grew my business.
That selling isn’t about being pushy or slimy or aggressive. Not even close.
It’s about being confident, empowered, and honest. And empowering the other person to feel the same. It’s about showing up in service. It’s about knowing (in your bones) that making good money in your business is a really good thing, and allows you to make an even bigger impact in this world.
Fast-forward to me opening my second business, my mindset and sales coaching practice. By this time, selling and marketing felt like second nature to me, and I also realized I was really good at it (and had the multi six-figure results to show for it). So I decided to teach other women how to get good at and love selling too!
As a therapist who had spent years running my own practice (mostly without insurance companies), I learned how to easily convert a sales call into a yes while getting them to know and trust me quickly (we’re talking no FB ads, content, or previous connection), so I know the importance of doing sales in an ethical and heart-centered way – and in a way that converts!
Moral of the story here — if I can go from the ultimate sales-avoider to the owner of two multi six-figure businesses, you can too, my dear!
