So instead of waiting for the client to book, or the post to go viral, or the sales to roll in to be happy…GET. HAPPY. FIRST. And the clients will book, the posts will go viral, and the sales will roll in. That’s always and forever the order of things.

HAPPINESS HACK #1
YOU are in charge of your own happiness. Today. Tomorrow. And the day after that.
Because when we’re waiting for the client to book…or the likes to pop up…or the sales to roll in…or the scale to smile up at us, we’re actually turning our power over to things that can’t actually make us happy in any sustainable way. Because only WE can make us happy.
No one and nothing else is responsible for our happiness. No one and nothing else owes us happiness either. So the sooner we take the happiness job into our own hands, the happier we’ll feel on the regular…no matter what’s happening outside of us.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re all humans having a human experience, which means sometimes the shit hits the fan. And sometimes bad things happen. Permission to feel all the feels when the hard stuff comes. But the point is to anchor back into our power without passing the happiness job off to someone or something else.
One thing I know FOR SURE is that when I take charge of my own happiness, all that external stuff I desire flows in much easier anyways.
Want the clients? Get happy first.
Want the social media influence? Get happy first.
Want the thriving business? Get happy first.
Want the healthy bank account? Get happy first.
Want the strong body? Get happy first.
HAPPINESS HACK #2
Happiness Hack #1 is about BEING responsible for your own happiness. Happiness Hack #2 is about TAKING responsibility for your own happiness.
TAKING responsibility for your own happiness is about getting soul-level clear on what helps you feel happy consistently and what helps you cultivate happiness when you need it. Ya know…the things that work for you to get happy on the days that don’t feel so happy.
Because let’s get real…you’re not going to feel happy every moment of every day, because…life…and being a human having a human experience. And that’s totally okay.
But when you know EXACTLY what kinds of things help you to get happy (or even slightly happier), and then you actually commit to DOING them when you need to…now THAT is taking charge of your happiness, my dear!
Because again, we can’t wait for the outside things to happen in order to feel happy. Happiness is available to you NOW, in this moment.
For example, that feeling you get when a client books or a sale rolls in or you feel ah-mazing in your body? You can actually cultivate that EXACT feeling right now – you just need to know what works for you to feel good.
Bottom line – cultivate happiness first and more happiness ALWAYS follows. And if you don’t know what your happiness activators are, that’s your assignment for today! Knowing this and putting your happiness activators to good use WILL change your life and, therefore, your business.
I don’t hand out guarantees very often, but this one I know FOR SURE!
HAPPINESS HACK #3
So often, our happiness (or unhappiness) is driven simply by what we’re choosing to focus on. And shifting our focus (even slightly) can be the difference between a happy day and a shit day.
Come to think of it, the same is true about life as a whole, yes? If we choose to focus on all the things not working out…not going right…not playing out how we thought – life just feels H-A-R-D. I mean honestly, I could think of 27 things right now in my life or biz that aren’t necessarily how I want them to be. And if I choose to focus on any one of those things, there goes feeling good.
So I don’t. I choose to focus on the 98 other things that are freaking ah-mazing about my life and biz right now. That doesn’t mean that I don’t reflect or plan or problem-solve around the other stuff. I just don’t choose to make any of those 27 things a “problem” to focus on.
Moral of the story — creating happiness for yourself on the regular is honestly pretty damn simple. It’s about knowing what you need to feel good, giving it to yourself as much as possible, and then watching where you put your focus each day. #happinessformula
I didn’t say easy…I said simple. But once you make these steps a habit, it honestly does feel easier, and then this whole happiness thing becomes your new normal.
You know what else becomes your new normal?! Creating more good stuff in your life and biz than you ever dreamed possible. #truth
